Blast the Fat: 3 Steps to Your Ideal Body

We are always looking for the next greatest exercise program or weight loss gadget to help us lose body fat. Sorry to say, but the same simple things that have worked for the past 100 years, are still the key ingredients that will work today.

Here are my 3 steps that can help you blast the fat.

  1. Proper Nutrition:
    You’ll never out train a poor diet. “But I eat healthy already and never lose weight!” That’s because there can be too much of a good thing. Practice portion control by eating on smaller plates. Consume 4-6 meals a day that consist of a balance of protein, carbohydrates and healthy fats. And, as crazy as it sounds, make sure you’re eating enough. If you starve yourself, your body turns to your muscles to supply the energy. The more muscle you lose, the less calories you’ll burn daily.
  2. Intense Exercise:
    Long slow distance (LSD) cardio is not going to work! The key is to push yourself during your workouts – strive to lift heavier (ladies you’ll NOT get bulky) each week and exchange the 45 minutes on the treadmill for some good old fashion interval training. Break a sweat! Once or twice a week, see how hard you can push yourself. Have fun with it. Think about movements, not muscles. Train for speed, quickness and agility, even if you’re not an athlete. Have fun with your workouts and you’ll reach heights you never thought possible.
  3. Recovery (Sleep!):
    From the moment we wake up till we sleep again, we are flying 90 mph. Are brains are constantly on the go. We use coffee to wake us up; a jolt of sugar in the afternoon to keep us from falling asleep and then we use wine or other sleeping aids to help us unwind at the end of the day for a quick 4-6 hours of sleep. Sleep is the time our bodies have a chance to repair themselves. Ever felt rested and energized after a few days of vacation? That’s because your body is finally getting enough sleep.
